As an owner of Komplete Ultimate, I have enjoyed all of the recent crop of pianos found therein they are responsive to touch and sound great, a far cry from the original, awful pianos NI sold. For me, the Pianotech instrument is responsive and fun to play, but doesn't hold up in pure sound quality on longer sustained notes. I'm not gonna try to pick a favorite based on my iMac's speakers, but a big part of a sampled piano, to me, is how it responds to the performer. Not to say that they won't work in a pop context, but exposed, this is a real issue. The first piece dramatically demonstrates these instrument's shortcomings in the release department.
